Sir Tom Finney
Sir Tom Finney was an English footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of his time. Born on April 5, 1922, in Preston, England, he spent his entire club career at Preston North End, where he made over 400 appearances and scored more than 200 goals. Finney was known for his exceptional skill, versatility, and sportsmanship, earning him the nickname "The Preston Plumber."
Finney also had a successful international career, representing the England national team 76 times and scoring 30 goals. He played in three FIFA World Cups: 1950, 1954, and 1958. After retiring from football, Finney was honored with numerous awards, including a knighthood in 1998 for his contributions to the sport.
