Sir Henry Pellatt
Sir Henry Pellatt was a Canadian financier and military officer, best known for his role in the development of Toronto. Born in 1859, he made his fortune in the early 20th century through investments in the Canadian Pacific Railway and other ventures. Pellatt is most famously associated with the construction of Casa Loma, a grand castle in Toronto that reflects his wealth and ambition.
Pellatt's contributions extended beyond business; he served as a major in the Canadian Army during World War I. However, his financial success was short-lived, and he faced bankruptcy in the 1920s. Despite this, his legacy endures through Casa Loma, which remains a popular tourist attraction.
