Sipan
Sipan is an archaeological site located in northern Peru, known for its significant discoveries related to the ancient Moche civilization. The site features impressive burial mounds, or huacas, which contain elaborate tombs filled with artifacts, including pottery, jewelry, and ceremonial items.
The most famous discovery at Sipan is the tomb of the Lord of Sipan, a high-ranking Moche ruler. Excavated in the 1980s, this tomb revealed a wealth of treasures and provided valuable insights into Moche culture, art, and social structure. Today, Sipan is recognized as one of the most important archaeological sites in the Americas.
