Single-Elimination
A single-elimination tournament is a type of competition where participants are eliminated after losing a match. Each match is a knockout round, meaning that the winner advances to the next round while the loser is out of the tournament. This format continues until only one participant remains, who is declared the champion.
In a single-elimination setup, the number of rounds depends on the total number of participants. For example, if there are 16 participants, it will take four rounds to determine the winner. This format is commonly used in sports, such as basketball and tennis, as well as in various gaming competitions.
