Double-Elimination
A double-elimination tournament is a type of competition where a participant must lose two matches before being eliminated. This format allows players a second chance, making it more forgiving than single-elimination tournaments. Each competitor continues to compete until they have lost twice, ensuring that even a strong player has a chance to recover from an early loss.
In a double-elimination setup, the tournament is divided into two brackets: the winners' bracket and the losers' bracket. Players who lose in the winners' bracket move to the losers' bracket, where they can still compete for the championship. The final match often features the last remaining player from each bracket, adding excitement to the event.
