Sing-Sing
Sing-Sing is a maximum-security prison located in Ossining, New York, along the Hudson River. It was established in 1825 and is one of the oldest correctional facilities in the United States. The prison is known for housing some of the most dangerous criminals and has a capacity of around 1,700 inmates.
The name "Sing-Sing" is derived from the Sinck Sinck tribe, which inhabited the area before European settlement. The prison has a long history, including notable escape attempts and infamous inmates. Today, it is operated by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
