Simple Fracture
A simple fracture, also known as a closed fracture, occurs when a bone breaks but does not pierce the skin. This type of fracture is typically caused by trauma, such as a fall or a direct blow. The broken bone may be aligned or misaligned, but the surrounding tissues remain intact, reducing the risk of infection.
Treatment for a simple fracture usually involves immobilization with a cast or splint to allow the bone to heal properly. In some cases, pain relief medications may be prescribed. Most simple fractures heal well with appropriate care, restoring normal function to the affected area.
