Silver-Russell syndrome
Silver-Russell syndrome is a rare genetic disorder characterized by growth restriction and distinctive physical features. Individuals with this condition often have a low birth weight, short stature, and a triangular face. Other common traits include asymmetry in body parts and feeding difficulties during infancy.
The syndrome is caused by genetic changes, often involving the imprinting of genes on chromosome 11. Diagnosis typically involves clinical evaluation and genetic testing. While there is no cure, early intervention and supportive therapies can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life for those affected.
