Silesian Duchies
The Silesian Duchies were a group of principalities located in the historical region of Silesia, which is now part of modern-day Poland. These duchies emerged in the 13th century after the fragmentation of the Polish Kingdom. They were ruled by various branches of the Piast dynasty, which played a significant role in the region's history.
Throughout the centuries, the Silesian Duchies experienced various political changes, including periods of independence and incorporation into larger states. By the late 18th century, most of these duchies were absorbed into the Kingdom of Prussia during the partitions of Poland, significantly altering the political landscape of Central Europe.
