Sierra del Escambray
The Sierra del Escambray is a mountain range located in central Cuba, stretching approximately 80 kilometers. It is known for its lush vegetation, diverse wildlife, and stunning landscapes, making it a popular destination for hiking and ecotourism. The highest peak, Pico San Juan, reaches an elevation of 1,140 meters.
This mountain range is part of the Escambray Mountains and is situated between the provinces of Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos. The area is rich in natural resources and features several rivers, waterfalls, and caves. It also holds historical significance, having been a site of conflict during the Cuban Revolution.
