Sicilian language
The Sicilian language is a Romance language primarily spoken on the island of Sicily, Italy. It has its roots in Latin and has been influenced by various languages due to the island's history, including Arabic, Greek, and Spanish. Sicilian is recognized as a distinct language rather than a mere dialect of Italian.
Sicilian has its own unique vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. While it shares similarities with Italian, it also features many words and expressions that are not found in standard Italian. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the Sicilian language, especially among younger generations.
