Sicilian Regional Assembly
The Sicilian Regional Assembly is the legislative body of the autonomous region of Sicily, Italy. It is responsible for making laws and regulations that govern the region, addressing local issues such as education, health, and transportation. The assembly consists of 70 members, known as deputies, who are elected by the citizens of Sicily.
The assembly operates under a special statute that grants Sicily a degree of autonomy from the Italian government. This allows the assembly to manage certain areas independently, reflecting the unique cultural and historical identity of the region. The assembly meets in the capital city, Palermo.
