Shyama Sastri was a prominent Indian composer and musician from the 18th century, known for his contributions to the classical music tradition of Carnatic music. He was born in 1762 in the town of Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu. Shyama Sastri is celebrated for his devotional songs, particularly those dedicated to the Hindu deity Kamakshi.
