Shin-hanga
Shin-hanga is a Japanese art movement that emerged in the early 20th century, blending traditional woodblock printing techniques with Western artistic influences. It sought to revive the classic ukiyo-e style while incorporating modern themes and perspectives, often focusing on landscapes, women, and daily life.
Artists like Hasui Kawase and Ito Shinsui played significant roles in this movement, creating prints that emphasized color, light, and atmosphere. Shin-hanga prints are characterized by their delicate lines and vibrant colors, making them distinct from earlier styles. This movement contributed to the global appreciation of Japanese art and culture.
