Shilluk People
The Shilluk people are an ethnic group primarily located in the southern region of Sudan, particularly along the banks of the Nile River. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and storytelling. The Shilluk language, a member of the Nilo-Saharan language family, is widely spoken among the community.
Historically, the Shilluk have been organized into a monarchy, with a king known as the Reth. Their society is largely agrarian, relying on farming and fishing for sustenance. The Shilluk people also engage in cattle herding, which plays a significant role in their economy and cultural identity.
