Shia beliefs
Shia beliefs center around the idea of leadership through the Ahl al-Bayt, the family of the Prophet Muhammad. They hold that Ali, the Prophet's cousin and son-in-law, was the rightful first leader or Imam after Muhammad's death. Shia Muslims believe that Imams are divinely appointed and possess special spiritual authority.
Another key belief is the concept of Imamate, which emphasizes the importance of the Imams as guides for the community. Shia Muslims also observe unique practices and rituals, such as commemorating the martyrdom of Husayn, the grandson of Muhammad, during the month of Muharram. These beliefs shape their religious identity and practices.
