Shakti Peeths
Shakti Peeths are sacred sites in Hinduism dedicated to the goddess Shakti, representing divine feminine energy. According to mythology, these sites are believed to be places where parts of the body of Sati, the consort of Lord Shiva, fell after her self-immolation. Each Shakti Peeth is associated with a specific aspect of the goddess and holds significant spiritual importance.
There are 51 main Shakti Peeths spread across the Indian subcontinent, with notable ones including Kalighat in Kolkata and Vaishno Devi in Jammu. Pilgrims visit these sites to seek blessings, perform rituals, and connect with the divine feminine energy that they embody.
