Shakti Peeth
Shakti Peeth are sacred sites in Hinduism dedicated to the goddess Shakti, representing divine feminine energy. According to mythology, these places are believed to be where parts of the body of Sati, the consort of Lord Shiva, fell after her self-immolation. Each Shakti Peeth is associated with a specific aspect of the goddess and holds significant spiritual importance.
There are 51 main Shakti Peeth across the Indian subcontinent, each attracting pilgrims and devotees. These sites are often marked by temples and are considered powerful places for worship and meditation, symbolizing the strength and nurturing qualities of the goddess.
