Sh2-111
Sh2-111, also known as LBN 762, is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is part of a larger molecular cloud complex and is approximately 1,000 light-years away from Earth. The nebula is notable for its striking appearance, which is shaped by the interaction of stellar winds and radiation from nearby stars.
The region of Sh2-111 is rich in star formation, with several young stars embedded within the nebula. These stars contribute to the illumination of the surrounding gas and dust, creating a colorful and dynamic environment. Observations of Sh2-111 help astronomers understand the processes of star formation and the evolution of nebulae in our galaxy.
