Severn Crossing
The Severn Crossing refers to two major road bridges that span the River Severn in the United Kingdom, connecting Wales and England. The bridges, known as the M48 Severn Bridge and the M4 Second Severn Crossing, facilitate transportation and trade between the two countries. The M48 bridge opened in 1966, while the M4 bridge was completed in 1996.
Both bridges are vital parts of the UK road network, allowing vehicles to cross the river efficiently. The Severn Crossing is not only important for commuters but also plays a significant role in regional economic development, enhancing connectivity and accessibility.
