Seventh Coalition
The Seventh Coalition was a military alliance formed in 1815 to oppose the return of Napoleon Bonaparte to power in France after his escape from exile. This coalition included major powers such as Britain, Prussia, Austria, and Russia, who aimed to restore stability in Europe following the turmoil of the Napoleonic Wars.
The coalition's efforts culminated in the decisive Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815, where the coalition forces defeated Napoleon's army. This victory led to Napoleon's final abdication and exile to Saint Helena, marking the end of the Napoleonic era and the beginning of a new balance of power in Europe.
