Senate of Puerto Rico
The Senate of Puerto Rico is the upper chamber of the Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico, which is responsible for creating laws and overseeing the government. It consists of 27 senators who are elected for four-year terms. The Senate plays a crucial role in the legislative process, reviewing bills passed by the lower chamber, the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico.
Senators represent various districts across the island and work on issues affecting the people of Puerto Rico. The Senate also has the authority to confirm appointments made by the Governor of Puerto Rico and to conduct investigations on matters of public interest.
