Sefer Torah
A Sefer Torah is a handwritten scroll containing the five books of Moses, known as the Torah. It is written in Hebrew on parchment and is considered one of the most sacred texts in Judaism. The scroll is used during religious services, particularly on the Sabbath and during festivals, when it is read aloud to the congregation.
The Sefer Torah is housed in a special cabinet called the aron kodesh in a synagogue. It is adorned with decorative covers and often has a silver crown, known as a keter, placed on top. The scroll is treated with great reverence, and its handling is governed by specific rituals and traditions.
