Seed Starting
Seed starting is the process of germinating seeds indoors or in a controlled environment before transplanting them outdoors. This method allows gardeners to get a head start on the growing season, as seeds can be sown earlier than the outdoor conditions would allow. Using seed trays or pots filled with a suitable growing medium, seeds are planted at the appropriate depth and kept warm and moist until they sprout.
Once the seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves, they can be gradually acclimated to outdoor conditions through a process called hardening off. This involves placing the seedlings outside for a few hours each day, gradually increasing their exposure to sunlight and wind. After about a week, the seedlings can be transplanted into the garden or larger containers, where they can continue to grow into healthy plants.
