Second Polish Republic
The Second Polish Republic was a sovereign state that existed from 1918 to 1939, following the end of World War I. It emerged after over a century of partitions by neighboring powers, including Russia, Prussia, and Austria. The republic was established on November 11, 1918, and was characterized by a democratic government, although it faced political instability and economic challenges.
During its existence, the Second Polish Republic experienced significant cultural and social changes, as well as conflicts with ethnic minorities. The country was involved in the Polish-Soviet War (1919-1921) and sought to solidify its borders. Ultimately, the republic ended with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939.
