Second Peace of Thorn
The Second Peace of Thorn was a treaty signed in 1466 that ended the Thirteen Years' War between the Teutonic Order and the Kingdom of Poland. This conflict arose from territorial disputes and the desire for greater autonomy by the Polish nobility. The treaty resulted in significant territorial losses for the Teutonic Order, which ceded large parts of its territory to Poland.
As a consequence of the treaty, the Teutonic Order became a vassal state of Poland, leading to a shift in power dynamics in the region. The Second Peace of Thorn laid the groundwork for the eventual rise of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, significantly influencing the political landscape of Central and Eastern Europe.
