Second Hungarian Republic
The Second Hungarian Republic was established after World War I, officially proclaimed on November 16, 1918. It emerged from the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and aimed to create a democratic government. The republic faced significant challenges, including territorial losses and economic difficulties, leading to political instability.
In March 1919, the Hungarian Soviet Republic briefly replaced the Second Hungarian Republic, promoting communist ideals. However, this regime was short-lived, ending in August 1919 when it was overthrown. The Second Hungarian Republic ultimately dissolved in 1920, leading to the establishment of the Kingdom of Hungary under a regent.
