Scutum constellation
The Scutum constellation is a small but notable constellation located in the southern sky. It was created in the late 17th century by the astronomer Johann Bayer and is often depicted as a shield. Scutum is bordered by several other constellations, including Serpens and Aquila, and is best visible during the summer months in the northern hemisphere.
Scutum contains several interesting celestial objects, such as the Scutum Star Cluster (M11), which is a rich open cluster of stars. The constellation is also home to a few notable stars, including Alpha Scuti, the brightest star in Scutum. Despite its size, Scutum is appreciated for its beauty and the variety of objects it contains.
