Scorpionfish
Scorpionfish are a group of marine fish known for their venomous spines and excellent camouflage. They belong to the family Scorpaenidae and are typically found in warm, shallow waters around coral reefs. Their unique appearance, often featuring intricate patterns and colors, helps them blend into their surroundings, making them effective ambush predators.
These fish primarily feed on smaller fish and invertebrates, using their slow movements to surprise prey. Scorpionfish can be found in various species, with some, like the Pacific Scorpionfish, being particularly well-known. Their venomous spines can pose a threat to humans, causing painful stings if stepped on or handled.
