Scomberomorus cavalla
Scomberomorus cavalla, commonly known as the king mackerel, is a species of fish found in warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly along the eastern coast of the United States and in the Gulf of Mexico. This fish is recognized for its streamlined body, sharp teeth, and distinctive dark blue-green back with silver sides.
King mackerel are popular among anglers due to their speed and fighting ability when caught. They primarily feed on smaller fish, such as menhaden and sardines, and can grow up to 5 feet in length and weigh over 100 pounds.
