Scent Composition
Scent composition refers to the combination of various aromatic compounds that create a specific fragrance. These compounds can be natural, such as essential oils from plants, or synthetic, created in laboratories. The balance and interaction of these ingredients determine the overall scent profile, which can evoke different emotions and memories.
In perfumery, scent composition is often categorized into three layers: top notes, middle notes, and base notes. The top notes are the initial scents perceived, while the middle notes develop after the top notes fade. Finally, the base notes provide depth and longevity, anchoring the fragrance.
