Scarlet Ibis
The Scarlet Ibis is a striking bird known for its vibrant red plumage. It is primarily found in the wetlands and marshes of South America and Central America. This bird feeds on small fish, crustaceans, and insects, using its long, curved bill to probe in mud and shallow water.
Scarlet Ibises are social creatures, often seen in flocks. They are known for their graceful flight and distinctive, long legs. During breeding season, they build nests in trees or shrubs, where they lay 2 to 5 eggs. Their bright color comes from the carotenoid pigments in their diet.
