Scaly Anteater
The scaly anteater, also known as the pangolin, is a unique mammal found in Africa and Asia. It is characterized by its protective keratin scales, which cover its body and provide defense against predators. Scaly anteaters primarily feed on ants and termites, using their long, sticky tongues to capture their prey.
These animals are nocturnal and have a solitary lifestyle. Scaly anteaters are known for their ability to curl into a ball when threatened, making it difficult for predators to attack. Unfortunately, they are heavily trafficked for their scales and meat, leading to significant declines in their populations.
