Saulteaux
The Saulteaux are a group of Indigenous peoples in Canada, primarily part of the larger Anishinaabe cultural family. They traditionally inhabit regions in the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. The Saulteaux people have a rich history and are known for their connection to the land, as well as their distinct language, which is a dialect of Ojibwe.
Historically, the Saulteaux engaged in hunting, fishing, and gathering, relying on the natural resources of their environment. They played a significant role in the fur trade, collaborating with European traders. Today, many Saulteaux communities continue to preserve their cultural heritage while participating in modern society.
