Satra
Satra is a traditional form of spiritual and cultural gathering in the Assamese community of Assam, India. It is primarily associated with the teachings of Srimanta Sankardev, a 15th-century saint and reformer. Satra serves as a center for religious activities, including prayer, music, dance, and community service, fostering a sense of unity among participants.
These gatherings often take place in a Namghar, a community prayer hall, where devotees engage in Bhakti (devotion) and participate in various cultural performances. Satra plays a crucial role in preserving the rich heritage of Assamese culture and promoting social harmony through shared beliefs and practices.
