Satin Bowerbird
The Satin Bowerbird is a medium-sized bird native to eastern Australia and parts of New Guinea. Males are known for their striking iridescent blue-green plumage, while females are more subdued in color. These birds are famous for their unique courtship behavior, where males build elaborate structures called bowers to attract females.
Bowers are decorated with various blue objects, such as flowers, plastic, and even pieces of glass. The male performs a dance and displays his collection to impress potential mates. This behavior highlights the importance of visual displays in the mating rituals of many bird species, including the Bird of Paradise.
