Sati Devi
Sati Devi, also known as Sati, is a significant figure in Hindu mythology. She is the daughter of King Daksha and the first wife of Lord Shiva. Sati is revered for her devotion and love for Shiva, which ultimately leads to her self-immolation during a yajna (sacrificial ritual) organized by her father, who did not invite Shiva.
Her death causes great sorrow to Shiva, prompting him to perform the Tandava, a cosmic dance of destruction. Sati is later reborn as Parvati, who becomes Shiva's second wife. The story of Sati emphasizes themes of love, sacrifice, and the deep connection between the divine couple.
