Sarah Brady
Sarah Brady was an American advocate for gun control, best known for her efforts following the 1981 assassination attempt on her husband, James Brady, who was press secretary to President Ronald Reagan. The attack left him permanently disabled, which motivated Sarah to become a prominent voice in the fight for stricter gun laws.
In 1993, she co-founded the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, an organization dedicated to reducing gun violence and promoting responsible gun ownership. Her advocacy played a significant role in the passage of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, which established background checks for firearm purchases in the United States.
