Santa Ana Volcano
The Santa Ana Volcano, also known as Ilamatepeq, is located in El Salvador and is one of the country's most active volcanoes. It stands at approximately 2,381 meters (7,812 feet) tall and is part of the Central American Volcanic Arc. The volcano has erupted several times, with significant eruptions recorded in 1904 and 2005.
The Santa Ana Volcano features a large crater that is about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) wide, which contains a beautiful turquoise lake called Laguna Verde. The area around the volcano is popular for hiking and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, making it a notable destination for both tourists and locals.
