Sand Pine, scientifically known as Pinus clausa, is a tree species native to the southeastern United States. It typically grows in sandy soils and is well-adapted to dry, fire-prone environments. Sand Pine can reach heights of 30 to 50 feet and has a distinctive, irregular crown with long, slender needles. This tree produces small cones that mature in about 18 months, releasing seeds that are important for local wildlife.
