San Luis Reservoir
The San Luis Reservoir is a large artificial lake located in central California. It was created in the 1960s to store water for agricultural and urban use, primarily serving the needs of the Central Valley Project and the State Water Project. The reservoir has a capacity of about 2 million acre-feet, making it one of the largest in the state.
Surrounded by rolling hills, the reservoir offers recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, and camping. It is also home to various wildlife species, contributing to the area's biodiversity. The California Department of Water Resources manages the reservoir, ensuring its water supply and environmental health.
