Samuel Mather
Samuel Mather was an American clergyman and author born in 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of the prominent minister Increase Mather and was known for his contributions to religious literature and his role in the Congregational Church. Mather served as a minister in various congregations and was involved in the early American religious community.
In addition to his pastoral work, Mather wrote several books, including sermons and theological texts. He was also a prominent figure in the Great Awakening, a religious revival movement in the 18th century. Mather passed away in 1785, leaving a legacy in American religious thought.
