Salt Lick
A "Salt Lick" is a natural deposit of mineral salts that animals, particularly herbivores, consume to obtain essential nutrients. These deposits are often found in areas where the soil is rich in minerals, and they provide animals with sodium and other trace minerals necessary for their health.
Salt licks are commonly used by wildlife, such as deer and cattle, and can also be artificially created for livestock management. Farmers and ranchers often place salt blocks in pastures to encourage animals to gather in specific areas, making it easier to monitor their health and behavior.
