Salmon Farming
Salmon farming is the practice of raising salmon in controlled environments, typically in large nets or pens located in coastal waters. This method allows for the efficient production of fish to meet the growing demand for seafood. Farmers monitor water quality, feed, and health to ensure optimal growth and minimize disease.
The process begins with breeding salmon in hatcheries, where eggs are fertilized and hatched. Once the young fish, called fry, reach a certain size, they are transferred to larger sea pens. After several months, the fish are harvested and processed for sale, providing a sustainable source of protein for consumers.
