Saint Mesrop Mashtots
Saint Mesrop Mashtots was an Armenian linguist and theologian, best known for creating the Armenian alphabet in the early 5th century. His work enabled the translation of the Bible and other religious texts into Armenian, significantly contributing to the development of Armenian literature and culture.
In addition to his linguistic achievements, Mashtots was a key figure in the spread of Christianity in Armenia, working closely with Saint Gregory the Illuminator.
