Saint Mary Euphrasia Pelletier
Saint Mary Euphrasia Pelletier was a French nun and the founder of the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd. Born on July 31, 1796, in Grenoble, France, she dedicated her life to helping vulnerable women and children. Her work focused on providing education and support to those in need, particularly those affected by poverty and social injustice.
In 1835, she established the first Good Shepherd convent in Angers, France, which grew into a global network of institutions. Saint Mary Euphrasia was canonized by Pope Francis on May 15, 2016, recognizing her significant contributions to the Church and society.
