Saint John Climacus
Saint John Climacus, also known as John of the Ladder, was a 7th-century Christian monk and ascetic. He is best known for his spiritual work, the Ladder of Divine Ascent, which outlines the stages of spiritual growth and the path to achieving a closer relationship with God. His teachings emphasize the importance of humility, prayer, and self-discipline in the pursuit of holiness.
Born in Mount Sinai, Saint John spent much of his life in a monastery, where he became a respected spiritual leader. His feast day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent in the Eastern Orthodox Church, honoring his contributions to Christian monasticism and spirituality.
