Saint James the Lesser
Saint James the Lesser, also known as James the Just, was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He is often identified as the son of Alphaeus and is sometimes referred to as James the Less to distinguish him from James the Greater. His role among the apostles is less prominent in the New Testament, but he is traditionally recognized as a leader in the early Christian community in Jerusalem.
According to Christian tradition, Saint James the Lesser is credited with writing the Epistle of James in the New Testament. He is often depicted holding a club or a scroll, symbolizing his martyrdom and teachings. His feast day is celebrated on May 3rd in the Western Church and October 9th in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
