Saint Basil of Ostrog
Saint Basil of Ostrog, also known as Saint Basil the Blessed, was a prominent Serbian Orthodox monk and saint, born in the 17th century. He is best known for his ascetic life and the establishment of the Ostrog Monastery in Montenegro, which has become a significant pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians. His teachings emphasized humility, faith, and the importance of prayer.
Basil was recognized for his miraculous healing abilities and his deep compassion for the poor and suffering. After his death, he was canonized, and his feast day is celebrated on April 29. His legacy continues to inspire many believers in the Orthodox faith.
