Saint Basil the Blessed
Saint Basil the Blessed was a Russian Orthodox saint known for his eccentric behavior and deep faith. Born in the 1460s, he became famous for his acts of charity and his commitment to the poor. He often roamed the streets of Moscow, wearing tattered clothing and speaking out against social injustices.
Basil was also known for his prophetic abilities and was considered a holy fool, a person who acted in a way that seemed foolish to others but was deeply spiritual. He died in 1552 and was buried at Saint Basil's Cathedral, which was later named in his honor.
